Tesla Roadster thrusters explained

Thrust and downforce solve different problems. Tesla describes cold-gas thrusters for propulsion and a separate underbody suction system.

Propulsion and orientation

The official page describes electrically controlled cold-gas thrusters. Rear thrusters are associated with Thrust acceleration; perimeter thrusters on Rocket support forward, upward and rotational movement. This does not mean all configurations have the same stunt capability.

The suction system

The fan and ground-sealing system draws air from underneath the car to generate downforce. Tesla also describes active wings and track-mode adjustments. These statements describe the intended system; this site has not independently measured the forces.

Demonstration versus everyday use

A controlled demonstration does not establish unrestricted flight or approval in every region. Tesla explicitly notes that Rocket is not approved for public road use. Follow the configuration-specific official description rather than treating “flying car” headlines as a universal permission or specification.
